Simple EXIF Renamer

Simple EXIF Renamer, is as small Open Source application that will let you organize your pictures according to the EXIF date tag included on them.

What is EXIF?

EXIF is the specification to insert predefined tags into any digital picture taken by most modern cameras. When you take a picture, automatically your camera stores in the resulting jpg file some information like:

  • Date and time information.
  • Camera settings.
  • A thumbnail for previewing the picture on the camera’s LCD screen, in file managers, or in photo manipulation software.
  • Descriptions and copyright information.

What can Simple Exif Renamer Do?

With Simple Exif Renamer, you can easly organize all your pictures database. Usually, we tend to have separate folders with nonsense names for each group of pictures in our computers. Simple EXIF Renamer can create an ordered directory structure, based of the date and time each picture was taken.

Features:

  • Drag and Drop interface. Really simple gui.
  • Automatically Rename the pictures with predefined or custom patterns.
  • Automatically sort pictures by year or month separating them into folders.
  • Store in a separate folder those pictures without embedded EXIF information & other multimedia files.
